The presence of textile technology at ITMA 2023 in Italy showcases the industry’s rebound from the effects of the pandemic.

After facing the impact of the pandemic, the global textile industry has shown impressive resilience and has garnered significant attention at ITMA 2023 in Milan, Italy. This highly anticipated exhibition served as a comprehensive platform for showcasing state-of-the-art technologies, with a large gathering of 1,709 exhibitors. The event attracted influential leaders and entrepreneurs who recognized its importance in shaping the future of the textile industry. With an overwhelmingly positive response, the exhibition welcomed a diverse and enthusiastic audience of over 111,000 visitors from 143 countries. According to a joint press release by the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers (CEMATEX) and ITMA Services, the top six visitor countries were Italy with 29%, followed by Turkey, India, and Germany at 6% each, France at 4%, and Brazil at 3%.

The recent edition of ITMA, held in Milan, Italy, has been declared a resounding success by industry leaders and exhibitors. The exhibition attracted a larger visitorship compared to the previous edition in 2019, showcasing the textile industry’s advancements in digitalization and sustainability. Stakeholders from across the textile and garment manufacturing ecosystem participated, and CEMATEX associations, as well as other exhibitors, expressed their satisfaction with the results. Italian exhibitors, in particular, secured contracts and sold their machines, highlighting the positive outcomes for the country. The event also welcomed delegations from major textile-producing countries like India and Uzbekistan, with their leaders expressing strong commitments to enhancing their textile industries. High-level officials and government representatives, including the director of the European Commission, also attended the exhibition. Exhibitors, ranging from start-ups to established industry leaders, praised the 2023 edition of ITMA and commended the platform for its focus on sustainability and digital solutions. The exhibition’s success has set high expectations for the next edition, ITMA 2027, which will be held in Hanover, Germany.
