Knitting Action/ Loop formation/ latch Needle Works

How a latch needle works step by step:

1. Rest Position/Running Position: At the start, the latch needle is in a rest position or running position, and there’s already a loop on it from the previous stitch.

2. Clearing: Now, when the needle moves upward, it initiates the clearing process. Here the old loop goes to the down position.

3. Yarn Receiving: When the needle moves up, it receives the new yarn to form the new stitch.

4. Cast Off or Knock Over: The latch on the needle is “knocked over” by the old loop.

5. Stitch Formation: Finally, the needle continues moving downward to form and complete the new stitch fully.
